Guardian video uses music by The Ramsgate Hovercraft

Today the Guardian web site launched a series of four short videos called Britain’s in trouble. The first, Ukip’s rise in the east of England: a world turned upside down is a very good, if rather bleak, film with Guardian journalist John Harris talking to ordinary people in deprived and neglected areas where UKIP is particularly popular. Our particular interest is that  John Harris is also an experienced and respected music journalist, and having come across The Ramsgate Hovercraft’s album Arcane Empire while working on the film in Thanet chose to use the title track for incidental music. We are very pleased to be associated with it. Watch the video here.

The Ramsgate Hovercraft live at Ramsgate Music Hall – video

Here’s the first video from the August 17th gig, with The Ramsgate Hovercraft giving the first live performance of Gala, one of several new tracks that we’ve been working on for the next album, which we’ve tentatively scheduled for release in January 2015.

Thanks to Margot Bandola and Andy Barrett for camera work.
