The Ramsgate Hovercraft will be performing live at Ramsgate Music Hall on Saturday 21st November. The line-up will include ace drummer Paula Frost and keyboard wizard Paul Naudin and the band will be joined by special guest Claire Dugué on hurdy-gurdy. The band will be performing tracks from their LPs Arcane Empire and Cinéma Vérité as well as new material. And we can’t wait to see Maggi Swallow’s Really Free Dance Ensemble who will be opening the show. And as if that wasn’t enough entry includes a free download of the band’s new EP Driftbreaker containing all new material. Tickets are available online and from Vinyl Head Café, Ramsgate.

The Ramsgate Hovercraft – The Red Desertshore – live
Here’s a recording of The Red Desertshore by The Ramsgate Hovercraft, performed live at Ramsgate Music Hall on 15th March 2014. You can also find the studio version of this track on the album Arcane Empire.

The Hovercraft has been hard at work getting the new album ready for its February release and so far everything is on track. More details to follow but it will involve exciting new artwork and of course more bewildering and beguiling music than the human mind can comfortably comprehend. There will be a launch event too – watch out for more details on that soon. In the meantime, enjoy The Red Desertshore.
The Ramsgate Hovercraft – live – “Arcane Empire”
Live performance of the title track from the band’s debut album, “Arcane Empire” at Ramsgate Music Hall. Check out the venue for other great bands and keep checking for the next Hovercraft experience (you might not have too long to wait).
Radio Seagull broadcasts The Ramsgate Hovercraft
We were delighted that Graham Lovatt of Radio Seagull played If…Then…Else from Arcane Empire on his eclectic and enjoyable Sunday night show (6th April). We have reason to believe that more tracks from the album will be coming up soon so stay tuned to 1602kHz on Sunday nights (or listen online at their web site). Radio Seagull describes itself as “The Home of Progressive Rock and Alternative Music” and broadcasts from a ship in Harlingen Harbour in the Netherlands.

The Ramsgate Hovercraft debut album
Arcane Empire is ready to go off for pressing, the artwork is ready for printing, the promo video is finished and the Indiegogo campaign is live. Head over to our Indiegogo page to find out how to pre-order and please help us out by spreading the word.
Pressing Matters
Preparations for releasing the album have moved into the next phase. We have more music than can fit on a double LP so we’re selecting and cutting, but don’t worry – whatever we leave out we’ll make available for downloading. We’ve started work on mastering and quotes have been coming in for pressing and printing so we’ll be making a decision shortly. We’ve also been making videos promoting the album – these photos show filming for the latest one, to be released very soon, featuring talented friend of the Hovercraft Mary Macbeth.
And finally here’s a snippet from the recently completed track Jantar Mantar which will definitely be included on the album. It takes its name and inspiration from the extraordinary early 18th century astronomical observatory at Jaipur, India.
